Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast

Anyone remember this beautiful book? Whatever printing process was used for the interiors produced the most gorgeous results. I have this book and heard something about it being written for some fort of 70's rock album- anyone know the scoop on that this?

Aaah this is great fun! I love manic anthrophomorphic animal books.

There exists a concept solo album by the bassist from Deep Purple featuring a rock opera based on this book... check this out:

But the book came first!

Dang- that's very early 70's...The book looks like it could have been made at the turn of the century...hmmmm.

I know that version is based on an older thing, some poem or another, isn't it a classic?

I just thought maybe it would be nice to make a book that's all about a big animal party... hmmm.

I've got this - quite stunning, also have another one of his, Phantasia. Have you got Masquerade by Kit Williams?
