Quick Update

The garden is looking good these days- must be all of the "ladies" (what Fred calls the worm from our worm bin). There really is a huge difference in the garden since they have been busy turing food scraps into garden gold. The asparagus that I planted last year hasn't come up yet this year. I hope it does- there really isn't anything like fresh asparagus snapped right out of the ground. Do you know that when they grow, they shoot up straight out of the ground- just perfect asparagus spears.

This was the sunset a couple of days ago. The neighbors that I was cursing last year for planting an avocado tree (they get to be around fifty feet tall) right in our view, trimmed it. I am grateful for their courteous gesture.

On the drawing table right now- 2 picture books. Both on tight schedules and both very different. I'm digging putting them together. I think that they are both going to be very special.

We had our dear friends, Sharon and Jeff, over last night. Sharon has been indispensable with one of the picture books. I would be light years behind in distilling all of this picture book stuff without her.

Fred just made me a chocolate-tini. He's getting very good mixing drinks. it is our evening thing these days. We watch a Downton Abbey (which we both love) and have a drink before doing some reading and work and winding down...it's a nice ritual.

Steph dear,

YOU WOULD BE FINE without me there. You just needed to let things fall into place.

Sherry Shahan has been helping me. She wrote, "I am so happy that I've been a help to you, and that you could help Stephanie. We are an amazing gaggle of women."

She is right!!!

Love you,

S
